What is SIL – Supported Independent Living?
Supported Independent Living (SIL) provides 24/7 or part-time on-site support for NDIS participants living in shared or individual accommodation. SIL enables participants with significant support needs to live as independently as possible in their own home.
Our SIL services are person-centred, flexible, and designed around your goals, preferences, and daily routines. We focus on building independence and skills wherever possible, rather than fostering reliance on support.
All Aurion Lifecare SIL homes are warm, welcoming, and staffed by experienced, caring support workers who are committed to making your house feel like a home.
What's Included
Who Can Access This Service?
- NDIS participants requiring daily, ongoing support to live independently
- SIL funding must be specifically included in the participant's NDIS plan
- Assessed through an SIL Needs Assessment by an OT
- Suitable for participants transitioning from institutional or family care
How We Deliver This Service
We conduct a comprehensive needs and compatibility assessment before matching participants with SIL homes. We ensure residents have compatible needs and lifestyles. Support plans are developed collaboratively with participants, families, and support coordinators, and are reviewed regularly.
